COMMIT TO A HIGHER STANDARD
Voluntary operator certification promotes a culture of workplace excellence that inspires consumer confidence and attracts quality applicants. Now is the time to set your organization apart – earn special recognition for your utility this spring while helping your operators achieve!

THE BACKSTORY
Professional Operator (PO) certification & designation for water treatment, distribution, collection, and wastewater treatment operators embodies the most rigorous standards of the profession. To earn the PO title, operators must pass the relevant C2EP certification exam, meet specific education and job experience requirements, and adhere to a code of conduct. As the PO ranks grow, POWER events are being held across North America to publicly honor the newly-certified Professional Operators, promote the profession, and call attention to the vital contributions of water and wastewater utilities.

To maintain the rigor and relevancy of the credential, the PO Program is pilot testing new exams from May 1 through June 30, 2017. Because a concentrated volume of candidates is needed in order to quickly complete psychometric studies and finalize exam scores, C2EP is collaborating with interested utilities and employers to offer application rebates and prizes to PO candidates for a limited-time this spring.

WHAT DOES IT TAKE?
To become a collaborating employer eligible for related benefits, just email us to register your interest! From there, you’re simply asked to promote the PO opportunity to your operators through whatever means best suit your organization. You might announce the opportunity through staff meetings, emails, or intranet postings. Or, get creative with your own incentives or competitions. Check out the details your operators will want – this includes details on the process as well as application rebates and prizes available to operators this spring.

Whatever your approach, C2EP is happy to assist you in preparing a customized handout or other communication tailored to your organization and operators.

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?
Each registered utility with at least one new Professional Operator earning the designation by testing during the exam pilot period will receive:
  • A PO Marketing Kit including a press release, PO-branded decals, and a poster designating the organization as a proud employer of Professional Operators, as well as
  • One entry to win a POWER Event Prize Package – an opportunity to participate in an industry POWER event celebrating Professional Operators and their employers at either WEFTEC 2017 or ACE18. Each package includes a full conference registration as well as a $1,000 USD travel stipend to be issued at the event.
The first two utilities with 50 new Professional Operators earning the designation by testing during the exam pilot period will receive their own Celebrating Your Utility POWER event—a local celebration of your organization and its operational staff at a mutually agreed-upon venue and date!
