APPLICATION PROCESS FOR PO WATER DISTRIBUTION CERTIFICATION

OVERVIEW

The PO certification process is comprised of several steps that require action from either the applicant or the C2EP certification team. C2EP aims to process applications as quickly as possible while still conducting a thorough review. Applications are processed on a first-in, first-reviewed basis with the goal of processing each application within 30 days of receipt.

APPLICATION FEES

All fees are in US Dollars, non-refundable, non-transferrable, and subject to change without notice. State and Local taxes may apply.

CERTIFICATION APPLICATION SUBMITTED THROUGH PO APPLICATION PORTAL:

*$145.00 payable to ABC/ C2EP at time of application submission

CERTIFICATION APPLICATION SUBMITTED OUTSIDE OF PO APPLICATION PORTAL:

$195.00 payable to ABC/ C2EP at time of application submission

EXAM ADMINISTRATION FEE:

$67.00 payable to AMP at time of exam scheduling (fees vary outside of the US)

*Candidates completing their PO exam between May 1 and June 30, 2017 will automatically receive a rebate of their $145 application fee within two weeks of testing. Learn more.

DOCUMENTING QUALIFICATIONS

All education and experience claims that are intended to be considered for certification eligibility must be accompanied by official supporting documentation.

GENERAL EDUCATION

Acceptable documentation of completion of general education includes:

·         Copy of original high school diploma;

·         Copy of college transcripts including a record of pertinent high school diploma information including name, institution, and date of graduation;

·         Copy of GED document;

·         Copy of evaluation document from an Association of International Credential Evaluators (AICE) or National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) member credential evaluation service;

·         Copy of diploma or degree from an accredited institution;

·         Copy of certificate from an accredited technical education institution; or

·         Copy of certificate of completion, or similar, from a registered apprenticeship program.

POST-SECONDARY/CONTINUING EDUCATION

Documentation of post-secondary education can typically be accomplished with copies of:

·         Transcripts;

·         Diplomas;

·         Certificates; or

·         Other such formal documents issued by an educational institution.

OPERATING EXPERIENCE

Applicants can best document their experience by submitting a letter from a current or past supervisor who can attest to time spent in operations and the specific duties performed. Formal employment records also are sufficient.

RELATED EXPERIENCE

If using related experience to substitute for operating experience, applicants should document related work history as they would document operating experience.

SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION

Once you have gathered all of the required information, log into the PO Certification Portal to begin a certification application. You do not have to complete your entire online application during a single session; you may save your progress and return to complete your application as your schedule permits.

To ensure timely review of your application, you must ensure all fields are completed fully and accurately, including attachment of all required supporting documentation. You will be able to make payment and submit your application once all required fields and attachments are complete. Payment is due at the time of application submission.

 By submitting an application, you will agree to various terms and conditions, including:

1.     Providing true, accurate, and complete information on your application;

2.     Disclosing all personal litigation and disciplinary action held against you within the scope of your application;

3.     Adherence to the PO Code of Conduct;

4.     Confidentiality of any examination material;

5.     Proper use of the professional designation;

6.     Release of data that is deemed public information;

7.     Enforcement of the certification standards and Code of Conduct; and

8.     Any other specifications made throughout the Candidate Handbook or the application.

CONFIDENTIALITY OF APPLICATION INFORMATION AND MATERIALS

With the exception of publicly available information, materials and information submitted by applicants, candidates, and certificants will remain confidential, unless required by law or unless a third party is authorized by the individual. Only members of the C2EP staff, Commission, and designated individuals acting on behalf of the Commission have access to these documents. C2EP will take all reasonable precautions to ensure that applicants’, candidates’, and certificants’ personal information not be released to third parties.

PUBLICLY AVAILABLE INFORMATION

C2EP and ABC reserve the right to publish or release information regarding a certificant including certificant’s name, certification type and class, certification date, certification expiration date, certification status, and disciplinary actions (if any) against the certificant.

OVERVIEW OF APPLICATION REVIEW PROCESS

C2EP endeavors to review all applications within 30 days of receipt. C2EP reserves the right to verify any claims or documentation submitted with the application. This may include contacting employers, educational institutions, and/or regulatory authorities.

Should C2EP require any additional information to determine an applicant’s eligibility, he or she will be notified via email. The requested information must be provided to C2EP within 90 days of the request, or the application will be denied.

NOTIFICATION OF ELIGIBILITY AND NEXT STEPS

Once eligibility is confirmed and an application has been approved, you will be contacted by Applied Measurement Professionals (AMP) with information to schedule your exam. Select applicants who have demonstrated proof of pass of a current ABC/C2EP standardized examination may be able to waive the examination component of the PO application process.

NOTIFICATION OF INELIGIBILITY AND NEXT STEPS

Should C2EP be unable to confirm an applicant’s eligibility, his or her application will be denied and the applicant will receive an email detailing the reason for denial. An applicant may reapply at his or her discretion. Applicants have 30 days to appeal a denial as outlined in PO Water Treatment Appeals.
